Brandon's first attempt in rice cereal!

Lately I've been feeling like Brandon has been wanting a little bit more from his feedings.  No matter how often or how much we feed him it seems like he's not completely satisfied!  I've been doing some research on how soon you are able to feed your infant and from what I've read it's anywhere from 4-6 months.  It's mainly up to the parents and their feeling of whether or not their child is ready!  There are a few check list on what to look for to see they're ready such as:

- Baby can head up
- Makes chewing motions
- Birth weight has doubled
- Can close mouth around spoon

We started with a tablespoon of rice cereal mixed with 4 tablespoon of boob milk. It was a slow start at first, but he got the hang of it towards the end.  It seemed like he wasn't really sure about the spoon at first.  The texture, the shape, and why no milk was shooting out of a hole...but I think the fact that there was some type of food he seemed to be willing to give it a try!  We don't plan to substitute rice cereal for any of his meals...it's more of a snack :)

He definitely is an impatient little guy when it comes to eating!!  It's been about 4 hours now since we've fed him the rice cereal and so far so good! He hasn't shown any weird signs of discomfort and is currently fast asleep in his crib!

Sleep is getting better...

I've always told myself that I was NOT going to let Brandon sleep in our bed! Boy, did I jump the gun on that one! When he was a newborn he slept his bassinet for the first few days... Then he began to sleep in our bed! With my incision it was hard to get in and out of bed to feed him in the middle of the night! I knew that once he started sleeping in there it was going to be hard to get him out. Last month Josh caught a cold and began to sleep out on the couch...and for a few weeks he slept out there while Brandon and I had the whole bed to ourselves. It was great because Brandon and I had our own side of the bed and we all slept so well. After 2 weeks of Josh pulling a Scott Disick we decided that we can't continue to sleep like that. It's was not good for our relationship and we were really missing each other! So after a few months of collecting dust we brought the bassinet back in our bedroom and kicked the little man out of our bed. The first night was great! Brandon slept for almost 5 hours and both Josh and I got to catch up on our cuddling! So it's been 2 weeks now and we hope that it continues to only get better! Now, the next obstical that we are looking at is Brandon is almost too long to fit in his bassinet! Where the heck are we gonna put him?! His crib would be the next step, but I don't think we're ready for him to sleep in a different room just yet! I'm totally open to suggestions!

Growing before my eyes!

I can't believe our little guy is 15 weeks old! I was just looking at old pictures of him and I can't believe how much he's grown already. Parents always tell me to "take it all in" because they grow so fast...and they are totally right, they really do!
