10 & 11 weeks... And a brand new Brandon

Wow, I feel like Brandon completely changed over night! Like he went to bed as a newborn and woke up an infant! I can tell from the way he has been observing things around him... It seems like he's really beginning to look at the world differently. It could be that his eye sight has become sharper and is able to see further! The other day while we were sitting on the couch Josh got up and walked across the room and Brandon watched him closely the whole way. It was such an amazing experience to see your child developing their skills right before your eyes! Now, with his eyes able to focus a lot better, playing with him has become a lot more fun! He's beginning to really enjoy his jungle gym play mat along with his rattles. I've read that around this age their little brain need more stimulation. So we sing to him and talk to him every chance we get. He usually responds with a lot of smiles and coos. We are having so much fun with him now!

I think that Brandon is officially over his crying phase!! Thank God! It was so hard to distinguish what cry was what when he cried all the time, but now he only really cries when he's hungry, tired, or need to be changed.

He's sleeping a lot better ever since we started our new routine! We've been doing the wake, change, play, eat, and sleep routine.

His naps can range from 15-30 minutes

Then when he wakes up we try try to get him going with a little song so he's in a good mood.

We play with him for a little while. Whether with just chatting, singing, tummy time, or watching Mickey mouse club house (cause it's super colorful and the characters voices are pretty high pitch which he loves). It's all about the stimulation to get him nice and tired!

He has been liking this new routine and we have realized that he's beginning to sleep at least 4 hour stretches at night!

Milestones so far:

He is getting better at controlling his arms and legs which makes him super wiggly!

He has learned to role over!!! I'll have a video here shortly!

He's discovered his voice and loves to talk to himself!

He still loves his hands an cant keep it out of his mouth!

He is now better at being put down. We are trying to slowly break him from being carried all the time... He used to only fall asleep on our arms, now he's sleeping on his own... He's still in our bed, but oh well...baby steps I guess?

A 9 week Brandon

I told myself that I would get better at keeping you all updated on Brandon! So here I am, trying to keep my promise :)

Well Brandon is officially 10 weeks as of now, but I usually am a week behind, so this will be his 9 week update!  Let's see, well last week was my second week of work and I feel like I have mastered the hard part of it.  Which was getting ready!  After my 1st week back to work I realized that the best way to cut my time and stress down when it comes to getting ready is to do it before Josh leaves for work.  Ya, it is 5 hours before I have to be at work, but it's nice to get ready and not have to worry about Brandon.  I can take a shower, do my makeup, and pack the last minute things for him.  I usually get his bag packed and ready to go the night before, but I usually have Josh double check it because he always accuses me of not packing enough stuff!  Between the both of us he seems to be the one who is organized!  It's funny, because before I was pregnant it was the other way around.  I think that the pregnancy brain and now Mom brain has definitely gotten the best of me!

So, twice a week my Mom is in charge of the little guy and once a week he will go to my sisters.  He's been adjusting very well with his new surroundings as well as being away from me.  I've realized lately that since he's being watched by people other than Josh and I, his crying has cut down dramatically!  I'm not sure why, but Josh and I have felt so much more at ease!  He also has been sleeping a lot better through the night, especially when he's over at my sisters house!!  I think that being over there with his 3 cousins, he is more stimulated which gets him very tired... Which makes me so happy in so many ways! I love that he will grow up with cousins who are funny, smart, and loving!   he is also learning early social skills, and evrn though he's not able to physically play with them yet, he loves to listen and watch them play!  Josh always tells me how sad Piper, Skyler, and Prue are whenever he picks up Brandon!  There's not a better feeling in the world than knowing that your little one is good hands when you're not there!  Josh and I are truly blessed to have such an amazing family!

Brandon's Milestone

He still loves to smile and talk!

His eye sight is getting a lot better!  He is able to see things further away!

He loves his hands.  He is discovering his face and head.  Thank god he hasn't wolverined himself too bad!

His cheeks are starting to sag due to his chubness!

He is forming fat lines in his arms and inner thighs!
