19 Weeks

This week could possibly be one of the best weeks I've had yet...It's just been fun and feels like the pregnancy ball is finally beginning to roll. We began registering, getting the little guys room ready, and lastly we had our 20 week appointment (half way babay!!!!)

We started registering this week after we found out what the sex of the baby was.  We started at Babies R Us and let me tell you...that place is ridiculously overwhelming!!!!  Now, before we walked in there we decided that we needed a game plan.  We did our countless hours of research online and asked our friends and family for some inside knowledge. When we finally had all our ducks in a row we went in there with full determination...holding hands, smiles on our faces, and I think we were even skipping?  Who knows?  So as soon as those electric doors swooshed open and we saw the mountain of diapers and the ginormous wall of endless baby bottles. We just took a big gulp and knew we were instantly defeated!  After we got over the first initial shock of being there we finally started getting the hang of it.  Josh had a kick using the gun and I had fun daydreaming of our baby actually using the things we were picking :)  We had a blast...so much so that we also registered at Target and Burlington Coat Factory...

Oh, for any of you parents who are pros on registering...please feel free to check out our list and let us know if there is anything that we are missing!  We would love to hear what your must have items were/are.  Thank you so much!!

The registry names are under Brooke or Joshua Roque (Lynnwood, Wa)

Along with our registry we also decided to get started with the nursery.  We have always used the extra room as our computer/guest room...but since I have the husband that I do, the room has unexpectedly become his shoe room.  So ridiculous, BUT on the good side we finally figured out what theme we want our nursery to look like :)  Here is what we were thinking:

We love the idea of the animal theme for the nursery and really wanted to go with more of a neutral color because I feel that it will be more calming for the little guy :)

Lastly, we had our 20 week appointment with our Dr. and it went very well.  She went over our ultrasound results and everything looked good.  She showed us the notes that the ultrasound tech wrote down and here is what it read:

Cervix: Normal
Spine: Normal
Head: Normal
Legs: Normal
Arms: Normal
Hands: Grossly Normal
Fingers: Grossly Normal

....Um, ok so just like us you guys are probably wondering the hell 'Grossly Normal' means?!?!  Don't worry we did too!  I asked her if that was a good thing and she laughed and said yes...but I guess it's better than "disgustingly normal?"

The baby so far:

Size: 6 inches about the size of a large mango

Size: 8 1/2 ounces

According to babycenter the baby's sensory development is exploding!  His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch
